UK - Specialist Pro-audio product distribution company, LAX, launched a new range of Rodec amplifiers at last week's PLASA Show. The three new models are the PA 800, PA 1600 and PA 2400, which are being manufactured in the USA to Rodec's own specifications and they join the range of Rodec DJ and club mixers, aimed at the installation, professional and semi-professional DJ markets. Progressing the companies' philosophy that high quality equipment is vital to the DJ market, the amplifiers have been through a rigorous design and testing process during 2003 before going into manufacture.

The inclusion of good components, high build quality and effective protection and cooling circuitry ensure the new amplifiers will follow in the Rodec tradition of good sound and reliability, say the company. For this reason all Rodec equipment comes with a limited two-year warranty.

The amps have been tested for accurate power outputs, providing vital information to users with 2, 4 and 8ohm output, and a full technical spec sheet is attached. LAX took on the UK and Irish distribution dealership of Rodec at PLASA 2002 and has been setting up a select dealership network throughout the UK, which they are looking to extend at PLASA 2003. LAX's MD, Robin Rebbeck, commented: "This new amplifier range fits brilliantly into the Rodec product portfolio. With reliability, high quality sound and a keen price, I am sure they will popular across the UK."

Rodec is intent on reinforcing the importance of high quality sound equipment to the DJ marketplace. In the same way that musicians came to care about their sound, only using brands such as Marshall and Vox, LAX's MD Robin Rebbeck believes DJs should apply the same criteria to their sound. Rebbeck explains: "There has been a flood of cheap, unreliable equipment over recent years; it might be all gimmicks, LEDs and flashing lights but it doesn't deliver reliable sound quality. In my experience of hire and installation work, the professionals want to use equipment which they don't have to repair and replace, and gives them a good sound to work with."
