After spotting the VR-3 in action on the RSG stand, 'a light went on' in Tony's mind as he realised this looked like the perfect web streaming solution for the university, and particularly for use in its new £75m Business School. The Business School will play a key part in the university, hosting a number of high profile lectures and seminars which the university would like to share with a wider audience by streaming live to the internet. After a demonstration of the capabilities of the VR-3, Tony says he was convinced that it was right for the job: "The VR-3 is ideal because it isn't labour intensive and is technically simple, so we can easily train our technicians to use it. The 'all-in-one' package makes it easy to set-up and easy to use. I was very impressed with the VR-3 and to find out that I had been drawn as the competition winner was fantastic news".
The VR-3 is a fully integrated 4-channel audio mixer and video switcher designed for live production and web streaming. Ideal for an education environment where the unit has to be moved around and used by staff with varying technical knowledge, the VR-3 greatly simplifies production and streaming by incorporating a video switcher, audio mixer, preview monitors and streaming-ready USB output all in a compact, single unit, say RSG. As a USB Video/Audio class device (for web streaming or recording with a PC/Mac), web streaming is effortless by simply connecting the VR-3 via the USB port to a computer which is running a live streaming service such as USTREAM.
