RVON VoIP technology and RTS Intelligent Trunking Components make it possible for the RIB's 600 potential users in Beijing to seamlessly connect with over 30 of the broadcaster's matrix frames worldwide.
RTS Intercom systems are designed to scale for even the largest of system requirements. From simple two-wire partylines to trans-global RVON VoIP-based digital matrices, RTS has a customized system for the job. The communications RIB for the Beijing Olympics includes 600 ports distributed over three rock-solid ADAM frames, DBX series Dual Bus Expanders, KP-32 classic series keypanels, RVON VoIP products, intelligent trunking components with telephone interfaces, as well as products from the Emmy-winning RTS Two-Wire line.
The large number of ports the RIB supports is enabled by the 16-channel AIO-16 card. Installed directly into the ADAM matrix intercom system, the AIO-16 card gives 16 ports of audio IN and OUT plus individual data for each card installed (up to 17 cards) in the system. This doubles the amount of audio ports available from its predecessor the AIO-8. The AIO-16 is hot swappable, allowing the user to insert the card and begin using it instantaneously. The AIO-16 eliminates the need to manually set keypanel addresses on the back of the unit by enabling automated unique addressing, which greatly reduces the setup time.
Including the AIO-16, the broadcast standard ADAM frame is available with the widest variety of interface cards in the industry. It also has a wide variety of cabling options, including fibre and coax. These options, combined with standard redundant power supplies and huge scaling potential, make the ADAM suited to the level of operation that Olympic coverage requires, say RTS.
To connect instantly with headquarters and other remote points around the globe, broadcasters are combining RTS RVON technology with RTS Intelligent Trunking Components to create a seamless, reliable worldwide network through VoIP and telephone interfaces.
All of this connectivity is orchestrated through Windows-based RTS control software including AZedit, Trunkedit, RVONedit, and Trunk Supervisor. The Trunk Supervisor Software program is a trunking system management application. The program allows for real-time monitoring of trunk line status information. The program also has the capability of remote notification of user defined alarm events.
