UK - The 2005 Scottish Lighting Show is nearly upon us and this year hosts black light are showing the way in a very appropriate manner - by holding the show in a lighthouse. But this is no ordinary lighthouse. It's as easy to get to as black light's Edinburgh premises - indeed it's right next door! Built as a training tower for the Northern Lighthouse Board, the lighthouse is a perfect venue for the leading visual technology show in Scotland and the north of England.

This year's Scottish Lighting Show takes place on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September between 10.30am and 4.30pm. It builds on the success of previous shows, with many exhibitors returning and more exhibiting for the first time, drawn by its well-deserved reputation for high quality visitors and calm atmosphere. Visitors can discuss business in a quiet and informal environment, without being deafened by the PA systems or swamped by the bag collectors of bigger shows.

The show will feature many highlights, including the brand new Vari*Lite VL500, which takes the legendary VL5 to a new level. Another is likely to be the Green Hippo stand. "They are at the cutting edge of our industry developing media servers and projection systems. The system simply has to be seen to be believed, you will think of a thousand uses," says black light managing director Gavin Stewart.

The products and technology on show will cover LED fixtures, moving heads, conventionals, gels, truss, motors, control consoles and systems, staging, pyrotechnics and a wide range of associated hardware. Leading service providers and the PSA will also be present.

With food and drink available all day and a prize draw for those who register in advance to win a cool Gerber tool, everyone with a professional or academic interest in the lighting, video and pyrotechnic industry is guaranteed a rewarding day at the Scottish Lighting Show 2005.

"We have worked very hard over the past few years to develop the Scottish Lighting Show into what it is today," says Gavin Stewart. "The really big hitters of the industry are now sitting up and taking notice of the major role that the Show plays in the region each year.

"But the Show is just as much about the smaller, inventive providers as the corporate heavyweights," he continues. "You will be able to talk to them all, get hands-on experience with products and enjoy extremely constructive two-way communication, all in a relaxed and intimate environment which is far more user-friendly than a huge exhibition hall."
