The new G2 Evolution wireless mic system from Sennheiser offers eight hours of life from a pair of AA rechargeable batteries, pilot tone squelch, the usual 'available channel' scanning, and a nice strong visual fault indicator. Two new headworn mics, HSP2 and HSP4 are both lightweight: 2 is omni-directional, 4 cardioid. The e935 and e945 vocal mics, super and hyper cardioid join the e900 series of mics respectively. Typical features are high gain before feedback and presence boost: the e902 is designed specifically for low end, bass guitar and kick drum applications, while the e904 is intended as a dedicated snare drum mic with very short body and a fast transient response.

D.A.S. Audio, represented in the UK by Sennheiser, presented the Aero 48, the big brother of the Aero 28 line array. Main cabinet features a typical twin 15", four 8" mids and two 1" compression drivers configuration. All drivers are neodymium, and developed in-house by D.A.S. D.A.S. had three new Class H amps, 750 to 2000W, all pro-touring packaged to accompany the Aero 48 system. D.A.S. reports that sales of Aero28 have been so good that the company felt obliged to complete the range with a large format line array.
