Polly Vacher MBE has trained as a music teacher, physiotherapist, sky diver and more, this is her second flight round the world. Sennheiser has supplied the HMEC 25KA flight communications headset, a compact lightweight design that is fully adjustable and ideal for extended use. Vacher commented: "The HMEC 25KA is the only headset I have tried that is female friendly, and it is worth noting that over 25 percent of all pilots are women."
HRH Prince Charles attended the departure ceremonies where he was introduced to Vacher, the team and some of her sponsors including Paul Whiting and Kerry Trubee of Sennheiser UK. His Royal Highness expressed great interest in Vacher’s challenge and her motivation to help disabled people through learning to fly.
Over 190 supporters gave Vacher a warm send off from Birmingham International Airport. After departing to the north in her bright orange and black Piper Dakota, she reappeared a few minutes later flanked by a Hurricane and Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
