UK - Sennheiser's charity golf days have become an annual highlight with the company, its customers and suppliers alike. As well as providing an excellent way to informally discuss both business and pleasure, they also have the very serious purpose of raising significant amounts of money for good causes.

10 July this year saw around 100 Sennheiser customers and staff take part in the 14th charity golf day held at Mill Ride Golf Course, Ascot, with a remarkable £17,000 being raised for the Caron Keating Foundation.

Set up in memory of late television presenter Caron Keating, the Foundation raises money to offer financial support to carers, complementary healing practitioners and support groups dealing with cancer patients, as well as individuals and families who are affected by the disease and to cancer charities in the ongoing quest for early diagnosis and effective treatment.

Taking place in glorious weather, the golf day comprised a leisurely round of Mill Ride's 18 holes, including a break for lunch, followed by an evening dinner and charity auction.

The auction prizes included Formula One Paddock Club Hospitality at the Spanish Grand Prix, an Airbus simulator experience, signed guitars, concert tickets, a personalised set of Sennheiser's top of the range HD800 headphones, a signed Caron Keating print, tickets to the premier enclosure at Ascot racecourse, to Chelsea FC's opening match of the season and many more.

As founder of the Caron Keating Foundation, Gloria Hunniford was invited to be the guest host of the dinner. She comments: "Since we set up the Foundation in 2004, Sennheiser has been one of our biggest supporters.

"As the Foundation is family run we have very little in the way of costs, so all the monies we raise can go to all types of cancer charities. Sennheiser's donations mean that we have been able to help literally dozens over the years.

"Sennheiser is a serious organisation, but they're also a great deal of fun and we've enjoyed attending a number of the golf days. We deeply appreciate everything they do and can't thank them enough."

Phil Massey, Sennheiser UK's general manager adds: "This year's charity golf day was another great success. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of the participants and those who donated lots to be auctioned, we were able to raise a significant sum for the Caron Keating Foundation, an organisation which does a remarkable amount to help those affected by cancer and one we are always happy to try and help."
