The three main broadcasters, KBS (Korean Broadcasting System), MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation) and SBS (Seoul Broadcasting System) will be using Sennheiser wired/wireless microphones to report on the soccer matches live from 11 stadiums all over Korea. These three broadcasters will share resources by stationing three to four OB vans equipped with Sennheiser systems at each stadium. MBC, the official World Cup broadcaster, will be using Sennheiser 3000 Series systems for the opening show. "We are very pleased that these renowned broadcasters opted for Sennheiser RF wireless. As during the Summer and Winter Olympics, our equipment will ensure thrilling live broadcasts," said Rolf Meyer, Sennheiser’s president of marketing and sales.
Throughout the championship, Koil Corporation, Sennheiser’s Korean distributor for broadcast microphone systems, and main supplier to the Korean broadcasters, will have its service team on permanent standby. This service is extended even to Sennheiser customers among European, American and Asian broadcasters. Koil Corporation will also set aside equipment such as shotgun microphones and wireless transmitters and receivers for urgent rental or replacement. Sennheiser’s ‘RF guru’ Klaus Willemsen will also be in Korea to render whatever technical support Koil’s service team needs, especially in the field of wireless frequency co-ordination.
