"The seminar will be along the same lines as last year, although the content has been refreshed and updated," explains Ken Morrison, business area manager at Sennheiser UK. "The accent is still on providing information, education - and a little entertainment - for our installed sound, AV and live sound colleagues in the industry."
The choice of venues reflects Sennheiser's desire for the seminars to make a lasting impression, says the company.
"Last year, we decided that, rather than hold these events in a predictable, forgettable and anonymous hotel or conference venue, we would push the boat out a bit and have them in beautiful manor house locations that people would remember for a long time," Morrison continues. "Hence Hopetoun House last year, which helped the day enormously.
"The theme continues. Ashton Court is famous for its hot air balloon festival, and Knebworth - well it's famous for some of the biggest music festivals in the world over the past handful of decades."
A new participant at the seminars for this year is Rane Corporation, which is about to release a new, networkable DSP solution.
"This will be a world exclusive for us, as the product is not officially launched until the following week at InfoComm," says Morrison. "Steve Macatee, Rane's technical guru, will be flying in from Seattle to deliver the seminar, which will lead into an open forum about networking DSP."
Alan March, Sennheiser UK's business development specialist and leading authority on the imminent spectrum switchover, will provide an update on radio mics; independent audio consultant Roland Hemming will deliver a broadly-based talk that is a must for anyone involved in any type of audio project; and Sennheiser UK's live sound specialist Dave Wooster will talk about K-array's range of loudspeakers along with the newest D.A.S. line array system - the AERO 8A, which has not been seen before in the UK. APart will also be represented, with the Belgian manufacturers latest product innovations on show.
