A realistic alternative to CRT, the Digital Projection Monitor represents a new approach to resolving the issue of replacing 26" monitor displays and provides sequential contrast in excess of 40,000:1.
The DPM comprises a direct projection engine and lens, and a specially developed curved screen. The projection engine is a unique, high-performance fixed matrix LCoS projector based on SEOS' patented pixel management and 'black video' technology.
The technology used in the DPM enables it to display dusk and night scenes (including lightpoints) with correct dynamic range. It is compatible with the use of unmodified in-service night vision enhancement devices (NVEDs), and has been successfully tested with Gen 3 night vision goggles (NVGs), including ANVIS-6 and ANVIS-9. AT ITEC it will be fed from an Independence 2000 Image Generator from Quantum 3D.
Engineering Systems Technologies (EST) will demonstrate SEOS' Head Mounted Display, HMD 120/40, on stand 1026. With a combination of field of view, lightweight and balance, the HMD allows the user to interact with a virtual environment in a way not previously possible. It uses single panel displays along with innovative optical technology to generate a visually immersive experience for the user. The 120°H x 67°V field of view is amongst the largest in the HMD market place and the whole experience is enhanced by a 40° (50% on each eye) full-stereo overlap.
SEOS' Product Briefing, DPM: The Alternative to CRT, takes place on the exhibition floor 12:30 - 1:00 on 21 April at ITEC 2004, 20-22 April, ExCeL, London - Stand 218.
