Serbia - Studio Berar recently deployed a JBL Vertec-based live sound reinforcement system for EXIT Noise Summer Fest, the largest music festival in southeastern Europe. The annual event once again took place at a striking, historical castle fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia.

The EXIT festival's musical programme mixes major international hard rock and hip-hop artists with dance music. The artist lineup this year included The Prodigy, Beastie Boys, CSS, Lauryn Hill, Robert Plant & Strange Sensation, Basement Jaxx, Snoop Dogg, The Wu-Tang Clan, LTJ Bukem with MC Conrad, and more.

''Even though we have worked on this festival for the past seven years, we perform detailed preparations each year in order to achieve the best possible sound quality," said Zoran Matic, system engineer for Studio Berar. "This festival has a great meaning for us here in Serbia, because in doing it, we get to exchange experiences and ideas with soundmixers and lighting designers from all around the world."

Matic noted that his crew is now using the new Harman HiQnet System Architect software for sound system control and monitoring. Studio Berar audio technicians deployed two main hangs of 16 VT4889 fullsize line array elements with a total of 32 VT4880 fullsize arrayable subwoofers. JBL VT4888 midsize line array elements and VRX932's were in place for out-fill arrays, delay tower support, and onstage side-fill monitors.
