The four day event saw SGM lighting fixtures such as the P-5 RGBW wash and the Q-7 RGBW flood take part in several installs and stage packages across the festival. A most notable display being that of Melbourne artist Sam Songailo. His 20sq.m maze comprising 100 large pillars was a big attraction of the festival, gathering thousands of attendees at any given time. Entertainment Technology Australia's Taylor Chadwick was recruited as lighting designer for the install, in charge of bringing the display to life every evening of the festival.
"Lots of colour, lots of movement and a lighting fixture that was powerful enough to illuminate not just the visible face, but also throw light inside and through the 20m display," remarked Taylor in regard to the artist's brief for lighting. "Having worked a lot with the SGM P-5, I knew it was the only fixture for the job. High quality RGBW colour mixing, 25,000 lumen output, built in wireless DMX and of course IP65 rating."
The 12 SGM P-5's operated flawlessly over the four-day event despite the heavy rain, mud and some sunshine that they encountered.
