Dubai - Formed in August of last year, SGMedia's Live Events division has immediately made an impact on the UAE's events market, the company reports. Started by UAE-based businessman Steve Graham and production manager Nick Groves, the business stemmed from a need in the market place for a more personal touch within the live events market. "Our clients expect and require more than just a crew and equipment; they like to know that we are on the end of the phone 24/7 and are willing and able to assist them with all of their production needs," states Nick Groves, the managing partner of the events and special projects division.

"I think that the recent success lies in the personal touch. We take on the brief and follow it through from concept to completion. We then sit down with the client post-event and do a thorough 'post mortem'. It enables us to constantly improve our products and services and ensures that we always know where the client is coming from on the next event. It's the same service for every client. No special treatment. We do it properly every time or we just don't do it".

The company is already putting in place expansion plans for the first half of 2007 including recording studio facilities and a record label. With clients currently ranging from small-scale corporate AGMs all the way across the board, encompassing theatrical productions, product launches, concerts, TV, opening ceremonies and beyond, they are looking forward to adding recording contracts and facilities to their scope.

Managing director Steve Graham says: "Since the formation of the company we have been absolutely astounded by the reaction. We have so far serviced the Cliff Richard Here and Now tour Dubai, HSBC Bank's 60th Anniversary in the Middle East, numerous corporate events, and have confirmed enough work over the coming year to prove our philosophy works."

Although not holding a stock of equipment themselves, SGMedia has access to the inventory of the majority of the rental houses across the region, often at preferential rates due to their close working relationship with the companies that supply them, and are able to source just about anything.

Aside from their work in events, SGM also provides radio commercials and Jingles, music composition, video production, animation, pre-visualisation as well as WYSIWYG services available through their ongoing partnership with UAE-based lighting designer Paul Smith.
