The trio, comprised of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, and Loy Mendonsa, brought their Cheers India tour to the Hitec Grounds in Hyderabad, India, on 13 October, where the 10,000-strong audience enjoyed the show via an Electro-Voice, Midas, and Klark Teknik sound system deployed by Acoustic Control of Bangalore. S.E.L Engineer Ashish Saksena mixed the show, with systems engineering support from Sanjay Mudartha of Acoustic Control.
"The EV XLC line array rig was set up using EV LAPS (Line Array Prediction Software), which was bang-on with its coverage, prediction, and fine tuning," says Mudartha. "Equalization was achieved via a tablet-based Smaart Rig with a WI FI link to Klark Teknik Helix EQs. The FOH position was about 100ft from the stage and the venue was about 350ft long; the XLC system delivered consistent, even coverage throughout the space, with loads of headroom. It had plenty of power for that 'in your face' feel. Our primary concern was to provide Ashish with a smooth, hassle-free experience, allowing him to concentrate on the mix rather than the gear, to get the band's sound exactly the way they like it. I think we achieved that."
Band Engineer Ashish Saksena commented, "The show was excellent, both technically and crowd-wise; S.E.L and their band said it was the best-sounding show of the entire tour. The setup was smooth, and the Midas Legend and EV XLC system sounded great."
