UK - Shure's UHF-R wireless system, distributed in the UK by Shure Distribution UK, carried away this year's prestigious 2006 NSCA Expo Innovations in Technology Product Award, in the audio category. Spanning seven product categories, three finalists for each were chosen out of more that 100 entries by an independent voting committee. Attendees of the 2006 NSCA Expo then cast their votes for one winning company per category.

The Shure's UHF-R wireless attracted award winning votes from NSCA members because of its unique set of features. The system offers superior RF performance and rock-solid reliability, as well as unparalleled control even in large, networked systems. With 2,400 selectable frequencies across a 60MHz bandwidth, UHF-R allows up to 40 preset compatible systems to be operated per band: up to 108 systems can be put to work using multiple bands. Shure say of the system: "Engineered to save time and effort in both fixed installations and touring sound applications, UHF-R is outfitted with an advanced feature set including automatic frequency selection with group scan, infrared automatic transmitter sync, and smart menu-driven system operation facilitating quick setup times and intuitive use."

NSCA (National Systems Contractors Association) is the leading not-for-profit association representing the commercial electronic systems industry. With more than 2,500 member companies worldwide, the NSCA is a powerful advocate for all work within the low-voltage industry, including systems contractors/integrators, product manufacturers, consultants, sales representatives, architects, specifying engineers and other allied professionals.
