After months of heats around the country, the final eight beatboxers battled it out at the Grand Final at the London Islington Carling Academy on 13 June. Last year's champion Beardyman, as well as Shlomo and Killa Kela presided over this year's event and eventually judged the winner to be MC Zani.
The KSM9, one of SDUK's flagship microphones which is currently being used by Killa Kela forms part of the prize MC Zani as Beatbox Champion will receive. Also coming his way is a set of Shure SCL5 professional in-ear monitors which are used by professionals all over the world for both live performances and studio use.
Paul Crognale, marketing manager of Shure Distribution UK said: "This has been a great event that is at the core of the Shure brand and we are happy to be supporting beatboxers at a grass roots level. Shure mics that are traditionally used by vocalists have now been embraced by the best beatboxing talent in the country and we hope to continue supporting new talent as they rise through the ranks."
