The mainstay of Shure’s booth will be the new Axient Digital wireless system
UK - Shure UK is exhibiting at this year’s ABTT Theatre Show, which takes place at London’s Alexandra Palace next week.
The mainstay of Shure’s booth (C43) will be the new Axient Digital wireless system that recently launched at the NAB Show in Las Vagas before later making its first UK appearance at PLASA Focus, Leeds.
Axient Digital, which replaces Shure’s analogue UHF-R and Axient wireless microphone systems, features a newly designed digital RF engine that builds on the benefits of Shure’s previous UHF-R, ULX-D, and Axient wireless systems. The scalable system features a universal receiver that works with two different transmitter types: the AD and ADX series. The latter product range includes the ADX1M, the world’s first micro-bodypack with an internal, self-tuning antenna, which addresses many of the key performance compromises of traditional bodypack designs.
“We are delighted to showcase the new ADX1M micro-bodypack as part of our exciting new high-tier digital wireless offering at this year's premier theatre show,” comments Tuomo Tolonen, Shure UK Pro Audio Group manager. “By consulting with our customers during the development of Axient Digital, it became clear there was an unmet need for a more ergonomic, discreet bodypack design.”
The benefits of the ADX1M don’t stop at its ergonomic design, however, as Tolonen clarifies. “In addition to addressing theatre’s unique placement challenges with an internal antenna, the ADX1M is fully ShowLink-equipped, meaning the user has real-time control of all transmitter parameters at all times. This includes RF output, power lock, gain and most crucially frequency.
“Axient Digital has the ability to not only detect RF interference, but do something about it - and seamlessly. In the current RF landscape, where the spectrum available for use by wireless microphones has shrunk dramatically and is continuing to do so, having the ability to avoid potential RF issues is a huge benefit.”
