A major change to the equipment list this year sees the arrival of Skan's L'Acoustics V-Dosc system. According to Skan's Chris Fitch, the decision over which speaker system to use is not a reflection on either L'Acoustics or the Turbosound system used in previous years but came down to availability. He commented: "We have achieved some stunning results with the Turbosound in previous years and are confident in our ability to get the best out of the L'Acoustics." The reinforcement will be used in conjunction with two Midas Heritage 2000 mixing consoles and monitoring via a pair of Heritage 3000s, while 24 of Skan's Turbosound TFM450 wedges will be on stage.
The Other stage hosts 11 bands a day including Orbital who will arrive on site straight from their shows at Brixton Academy where Skan is also the audio supplier. Orbital are just one of many Skan clients playing at this summers festival, others include the Chemical Brothers, The Libertines, Muse and Ash who recently used Skan for their UK tour.
The system will be designed and installed by Skan's Matt Vickers who will take care of one of the line systems at front of house until Muse arrive on site - he will move to the Pyramid stage where he will be responsible for the Skan equipment being used by the band. Once again Skan's FOH team will ensure incoming engineers have an enjoyable visit to The Other Stage by installing 'Matt's Kitchen' which will this year be serving fresh coffee.
