Event Lighting's Jernej Gustin (left) with Dean Karov of MK Light Sound
Slovenia - Event Lighting, one of Slovenia's best known lighting design and rental companies is based in Ljubljana and was started in 2006 by Jernej Gustin. Before that he was working as a freelance lighting designer.

The company now has six full time staff and works with a regular pool of freelancers servicing a whole range of shows including TV productions, corporate events, concerts and theatre shows - most of which are using Robe fixtures from their rental inventory.

As well as lighting design and equipment rental services, Event Lighting builds scenery.

There was already an investment in Robe when the company started as Jernej had actually had the wherewithal to make his first purchase of Robe moving lights with ColorSpot and ColorWash 575 XTs to use on shows he was lighting. These were among the first of the ranges that Robe produced after launching as an 'own-brand' in 2002.

Event Lighting has most recently bought Pointes from MK Light Sound, Robe's Slovenian distributor, and also has MMX WashBeams, LEDWash 600s and 600E Spots in the inventory - 70 units in total. In addition to that are some older fixtures which include 24 ColorSpot 1200E ATs - all still in active service!

The MMX WashBeams were an important addition to the hire stock because, "They offer so much versatility, the light output is huge for the size of fixture and they also compliment the other fixtures really well," says Jernej.

Event Lighting's MMX Wash Beams were recently used by LD Ziga Krajnc on the Znan Obraz Ima Svoj Glas show for POP TV, the largest commercially owned channel in the country.

They also recently finished a tour with electro-industrial rock band Laibach culminating in a big show at Krizanke in Ljubljana which was recorded for national TV. The LD for Event Lighting was Uros Faganelj and the design featured LEDWash 600s, Pointes and MMX WashBeams.

As well as all their work in Slovenia, Event Lighting is frequently servicing projects in Italy and Austria.
