Australia / Germany - Smart AV will present its latest Tango software release, version 2.4, at Musikmesse 2010 in Frankfurt next week. Changes include major additions and a myriad of small feature improvements. Smart AV expects the latest version to increase the already widespread appeal of Tango and the efficiency of the user's workflow experience.

Firstly, Tango now works with Desono's DSD/PCM mix engine and Stagebox. Desono products are high quality solutions for audio acquisition and production in the live, recording and broadcast markets, and when combined with a Tango or a Pro Series Smart Console it provides a unique and powerful combination.

Following enquiries from users wanting to use a Stagebox in conjunction with their DAW and Tango, development was initiated and has resulted in a particularly powerful solution. The unit can convert microphone signals into PCM or DSD digital data and send up to 64 channels over a single optical fibre; full duplex coaxial and optical MADI are fitted as standard, and the unit can transmit and receive data in PCM or DSD formats. The stand at Musikmesse will showcase Tango working in conjunction with Stagebox.

Live recording DAW users will appreciate the new Scene Management Software, the company says. The Tango Smart Console now features its own comprehensive Scene Management system with an Act, Scene and Cue storage hierarchy of one million storage locations. Other features include adjustable transition time, comprehensive 'Isolate' and 'Enable" functions for channel strip sections and intuitive MonARC based cue management. Many live recording DAW users will find this feature very useful and it becomes particularly relevant when used in conjunction with the Desono Stagebox.

Net Smart technology makes it very easy for users to get Tango to communicate with the supported DAWs without needing to manually reconfigure IP addresses. For example, if Tango has been set up on a network, the DAWs on the network are detected and the user is presented with a list from which the desired DAW can be selected.

Smart AV can be found on stand C86, Hall 5.1.
