SNP Productions was founded in 1999 when Pugsley was completing his final year as a student at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. The company has evolved steadily over the last 10 years, starting as a vehicle for his freelance work and growing into a major UK supplier for lighting & video control solutions. It is now focussed on sales, hire, training and full tech support for Catalyst.
"Catalyst was among the first and most original digital media servers, and it has a strong and positive brand identity," states Pugsley. "It's hugely flexible and constantly being developed with new and innovative features added all the time. It has a history and track record of reliability second to none, and apart from all that, I really believe in it."
He also enjoys a close working relationship stretching back a decade with Catalyst's inventor, Richard Bleasdale.
SNP Productions started selling Catalyst software in 2007 and the first server went on tour with rave band Groove Armada. Since then there has been a constant stream of systems provided to leading UK clients, plus others in Europe and as far afield as Russia and Africa.
Recent productions utilising Catalysts supplied by SNP include Simply Red (for PRG), Thriller Live (for The Flying Music Company), the Pet Shop Boys (for CT), the Mariinsky Opera - Wagner's Ring Suite (for Mesmer) and Dr Atomic, After Dido and Cosi fan Tutti for The English National Opera.
SNP will be exhibiting at PLASA09 for the second year running. In addition to the latest featured Catalyst products, SNP will be highlighting its Catalyst flightcase system, which can be designed and tailored exactly to fit specific configurations.
