Dave Shadoan, president of Sound Image.
USA - JBL Professional Vertec system owner Sound Image was recently named the winner of a 2006 Parnelli Award for Sound Company of the Year. The award was presented to Sound Image president Dave Shadoan on October 20 at the LDI convention in Las Vegas. The Parnelli Awards are chosen by subscribers of Projection, Lights & Staging News and Front of House magazines.

In 2006, Sound Image serviced some of the world's most successful tours, including Toby Keith, Eric Clapton, Tool, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, and Jimmy Buffett. On these tours, Sound Image deployed Vertec line array systems, using Vertec VT4889 full-size line array enclosures and VT4880 line array subwoofers. "Our company philosophy is to be the best you can be and give 110 percent at all times," Shadoan said.

According to Shadoan, the use of Vertec line arrays correlates directly with this philosophy. "We serviced close to 50 tours this year and grew substantially as we do every year," Shadoan said. "Our Vertec systems have performed extremely well for us. Their light weight, durability, horsepower and overall clarity have provided huge advantages as we continue to strive for perfection."

Sound Image has been one of the world's most successful sound companies for more than 35 years, providing quality and value for installations as varied as houses of worship, boardrooms, museums, casinos, corporate environments, municipalities, hotels, theme parks, stadiums and concert venues throughout North America.

"All of us at JBL Professional join together in congratulating Sound Image on having received this prestigious award," says David Scheirman, vice president, Tour Sound for JBL Professional. "The Parnelli Awards represent the 'industry insiders' perspective, and many leading tour managers and production professionals who work on the road day after day are keenly aware of the results actually being achieved in real-world applications. We are pleased to see a valued JBL Vertec system customer having been selected this year."
