Korea - Sound Projects reports that its Korean distributor Sound Solution has gained a strong position in the country's PA market by installing its sound systems in several large theatres and churches and by delivering systems for important events.

For the Performing Art Center of Hanbad National University, Sound Solution installed a fixed installation in the Harmony Hall. This 909-seat auditorium can stage performances of virtually any size, including grand opera: the stage can accommodate 200 performers at once. The university decided to install a powered sound system for consistency and reliability, and Sound Projects system was selected by the client "because it combined smooth music reproduction as well as very clear voice production from one and the same system without the need of any intervening equalisation," say Sound Solutions.

The installation consists of several SP3-90D positioned in a left/right/centre set-up augmented by SP3-15 and SP2-15 subs. Four X-act monitors are available for stage monitoring or spot in-fills depending on the scale and nature of the running production.

Leaders from 21 Asia-Pacific economies have gathered. The Nurimaru APEC House has just been constructed on the Dongbaek Island, just in front of the city Busan. This city is known as the major Korean harbour, but also is the centre of Asia's film and audiovisual industry.

Sound Solutions was also responsible for the installation of the sound system in the new Nurimaru APEC House for the 2005 APEC Economic Leaders Meeting in the middle of November. The system was chosen for its transparent speech reproduction, intelligibility, compact size and unobtrusive finish, according to Sound Solutions. The installation is based around the front-loaded, full-range SP3-90D augmented with SP2-15 subs, with X-act monitors on the stage.

Finally, the Kintex exhibition centre in Seoul is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure. The impressive oval Grand Ballroom is a large-scale meeting room for international conferences and can accommodate up to 2,000 people. The meeting room is equipped with a simultaneous interpretation system offering eight languages and advanced AV capabilities including quality screens and projectors. The sound system is based on the SP4-Diamond/SP3-15 subs; in the middle of the hall augmented by two delay clusters of SP3-60/SP3-15. Here too a number of X-act monitors complete the installation.
