UK - London-based Source has announced a major programme of expansion for 2008, coinciding with its recent appointment as exclusive UK distributor of Genelec professional monitoring systems.

In January, Source takes up residence in new, 3000sq.ft premises in north-west London. The building combines offices, warehousing, technical support and product demonstration areas, providing Source with the room and facilities to accommodate a growth in both personnel and product lines.

In the first of a series of new staff appointments, Steve Fisher joins the company as its dedicated Genelec product specialist - with responsibilities for providing technical support to resellers and end users, performing Genelec product demos, providing dealer training and offering advice on speaker placement, room set-up and acoustic treatment. With a background in both architecture and sound recording, Fisher has worked extensively with Genelec over the past seven years, receiving extensive training at the company headquarters in Finland.

Further appointments to be made in the coming weeks include a new technical support specialist to be based at Source HQ - providing assistance online and on the phone to dealers and end users alike and a Northern regional sales manager. The latter position will involve taking responsibility for dealer sales in the north of England and Scotland, allowing MI sales manager Chris Hawkins to focus entirely on the Southern region.

Commenting on the expansion, Source director of distributed brands Howard Jones says: "Source's first year has been absolutely phenomenal and we're delighted to have attracted such a strong product line up, and to have received such positive feedback from our customers. We're determined to set a new standard in audio technology distribution, and this expansion of our staff and facilities gives us the platform we need to realise our goals in the areas of dealer support, technical support, marketing and inventory supply."
