The stage set was dominated by a 14m x 4m Barco Dlite 7 LED screen which was flown from a rigging system. The event opened with a single video image displayed on the LED screen, which then split to create two 7m x 4m screens, positioned each side of centre stage.
Gerry Francke, account manager at SPS commented: "We believe that this project is innovative since LED screens are still mainly used by the entertainment industry, and they aren't something that corporate events organizers tend to opt for, due to considerations over screen resolution and costs. However, the kit that we have supplied for the B&Q event has surprised a lot of people, as we have managed to demonstrate how LED technology can be used extremely successfully in a corporate event environment."
Once the LED screen had split, SPS provided simultaneous mirrored graphics and video images on each screen, using picture-in-picture techniques, achieved by using two Barco D320 PL screen digitizers, running X-Lite software. SPS also used synchronization boxes which enabled the timing of the video images on both screens to match precisely, as well as to maintain a high resolution on the screens. The overall set incorporates 7m-wide industrial racking either side of the main stage. SPS then projected lettering onto randomly positioned screens which were placed on the racking to create a three-dimensional effect, using Barco SLM G5 Performer projectors.
