SSE Audio Group equipment sales specialist Alex Penn said: "With the recent introduction of the SB-168ES, it was a good time to talk about it and the M7CL. So we ran the days to help people to learn more about their capabilities, as well as letting people see for themselves the wide range of resources we have here at SSE."
A multi-track signal source was run into one SB168-ES which then fed the seven M7CLs used in the training session. This gave all attendees a chance to actually mix on 16 channels of a live multi-track recording.
The training sessions were held at SSE's demonstration facility and, over the two days, a total of 25 attendees enjoyed a high quality day of tuition and practical experience, with lunch and a tour of SSE's facilities included. The attendees ranged from people trying to break into the industry, to established freelance sound engineers and sound operators from venues as varied as theatres, churches, a cruise ship, an arts centre and the head technician of the recently closed London Astoria.
"We made sure everyone had a lot of hands-on time and we structured it so there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions," says Alex Penn. "It was a really worthwhile couple of days and we have had nothing but excellent feedback from all who attended."
