South Africa - Stage Audio Works, based in Johannesburg, has concluded a licence manufacturing agreement with the Total Solutions Group to manufacture the Total Fabrications range of industry standard aluminium truss products in South Africa. The agreement was signed at the end of August 2010 whilst Gustav Barnard and Jaco Kruger, head of manufacturing, visited the Total Solution Group Headquarters and factory in Birmingham UK.

The major benefits of this agreement allow clients in South Africa and Africa to access the range of proven UK truss designs, with local manufacture and back-up service with comprehensively reduced international freight costs.

Gustav Barnard, Stage Audio Works technical director commented, "It is such an honour to be able to manufacture Total Fabrication products in our factory. We are enthused and aim to maintain strict quality control standards and deliver a high quality product within the rush-service demands of the live events Industry. It is very rewarding to see our first roof system made in South Africa leaving the doors of the factory. The support from everyone at Total Fabrications has been amazing."

Mervyn Thomas, managing director of Total Fabrications, visited Stage Audio Works in September to review the first products manufactured which include Ground support Tower, Medium duty truss and the elements required for a 12m x 9m roof system. Also, he undertook a complete audit of manufacturing systems and product quality. The entire manufacturing process conforms to strict BS and EN/ISO standards with full material traceability.

Thomas adds, "It was great to experience the sheer enthusiasm and openness of the Stage Audio Works team. The whole manufacturing system is a smaller version of our own set up and having reviewed all specifications and completed load testing of the products I am confident that the product are built to the same standards as the factory in Birmingham."

The manufacturing division of Stage Audio works already manufactures flight cases, padded bags and stage decks under the company-owned brand 'Stage Plus'.
