Almost 30 miles of cable, 600sq.m of staging and over 2000 generic lanterns from Stage Electrics' rental stock were employed to transform a variety of spaces including churches, student unions, masonic lodges and assembly halls into professional theatre venues.
Stage Electrics' long association with the various Edinburgh festivals, was strengthened this year with Underbelly and Universal Arts opting to use its services for the first time. Dave Watson, technical and production manager from Underbelly comments, "The support we received from Stage Electrics was excellent. The equipment they supplied was maintained and well prepped for our events, and they were always quick and happy to respond to any issues."
The company established a temporary branch in Edinburgh for the duration of the fit-up, festival and get out, offering a 24 hour technical support service with on-site engineers as well as a large selection of sales and hire stock.
Stage Electrics business development manager, Paul Roughton, comments: "Due to the short turnaround times of productions at the Edinburgh Festival, sometimes as short as 15 minutes, it is important to respond to technical support calls immediately. These days, tomorrow is simply not quick enough."
