UK - Stage Electrics is currently supplying all lighting equipment for the colourful new production of Disney's High School Musical 2, Live on Stage!. The story follows the Wildcats as they celebrate their last summer before starting their Senior Year. This all new stage version is based on the Disney Channel's original film, and is produced by Stage Entertainment UK who produced the London production of Hairspray the musical and Sister Act the musical.

Technical equipment includes a large number of moving lights, predominantly a mix of Martin MAC 700 Profiles and Varilite VL2000 Wash fixtures, over 50 Rainbow 6" Pro scrollers, two Ivanhoe follow spots, almost 200 generic lanterns and two 'Big Shots' compressed air confetti canons.

Lighting control for the tour comes courtesy of two MA Lighting GrandMA Lite consoles, with a further full-size GrandMA used during the production week in Wimbledon for ease of plotting. In addition to this, Stage Electrics' in house manufacturing department custom made six flown lighting ladders and two floor standing ladders for the tour in order to reduce fit-up time.

Lighting designer for the production is Ken Billington, who is supported by associate lighting designer Tim Deling, lighting programmer Jonathan Rouse, production electricians Ben Cash and Alastair Mullan and touring chief electrician Tom Johnson. Production manager is Rich Blacksell.

High School Musical 2 Live on Stage! recently opened at the Wimbledon Theatre before touring across the UK and Ireland. The show stars Les Dennis as Mr Fulton and GMTV Search for Troy winner Liam Doyle.
