UK - Slough-based pro audio and lighting specialist Stagetec has launched a major new initiative - ‘Spotlight on Education’ - to enable schools, colleges and educational establishments to get more value from their technology budgets. Stagetec has always been active in the schools market, which represents 20 per cent of the company’s turnover. It’s also an area that’s been very rewarding in terms of building future relationships, via training schemes and investment in designing and installing practical, cost-effective schemes to benefit tomorrow’s potential performers and production designers and technicians.

Stagetec’s range of special offers provides an opportunity for drama departments to gain access to a wide range of sound, lighting and studio products at reduced prices: "Spotlight on education will help consolidate Stagetec’s position as a leading consultant and supplier of technology to this important market," says sales and marketing manager Ken Poole.

The first wave of promotions is offered across many of Stagetec’s leading global brand ranges, including Selecon and Zero 88. As a distributor of Zero 88 products, Stagetec is actively promoting the manufacturer’s own Financial Award Scheme, available to schools and amateur dramatics groups at specific times of the year. Successful Awards applicants can redeem up to 50% of the purchase price of their Award against designated Zero products.

Stagetec is also offering a 10 per cent discount off all Selecon lighting products including luminaires, lamps and gobos. A free lighting and sound consultation will be made available to any educational institution using Stagetec to upgrade their sound or lighting system. One of Stagetec’s project managers will visit the site and help advise on the most appropriate products and installation logistics.

Any orders over £5000 received by Stagetec that include a lighting control console as party of ‘Spotlight on Education’, will also receive a free half-day training. This will cover basic programming techniques, showing operators how to get the most out of their new lighting and sound systems.

Those spending £600 or more across Stagetec’s range of sound, lighting and AV products will receive a free multimedia CDi, based on the book ‘Stage Lighting’ by Dan Redler. Stagetec is also offering incentives to those just filling in a 'Spotlight on Education' quotation form - available online at the web address below - or via post or fax. As a further bonus to those filling out the quote form, they will be being issued with a password that unlocks an extensive online glossary of useful sound, lighting and rigging terms, plus a step-by-step guide on how to stage a production. All respondents will also be automatically entered in Stagetec’s free prize draw, with the chance to win a new Soundcraft E6 audio mixing desk.
