Germany - ProLight&Sound 2003: Stardraw previewed its new design and visualization package, Stardraw Lighting 3D, the successor to Stardraw Professional, which is scheduled for release this autumn. Like its predecessor, the new package supports unlimited objects, lightsources and textures, but adds rendering of lightbeams, shadows, gobos and rotating gobos. It also draws on many of the recent advances made by Stardraw in the realms of component-based and web-enabled software. What's more, the huge progress in graphics cards since Stardraw Professional, has led to an improvement in rendering times by a factor of 20, say Stardraw.

In another development, Stardraw has made Online Libraries available for use with its family of design and documentation tools (Stardraw Audio, Stardraw AV, Stardraw Lighting 2D and Stardraw Radio packages). The new libraries, which are introduced as part of the Feature-per-Month programme, allow users to access product symbols directly from the internet, removing the need for long pre-emptive downloads.
