Sweden - Starlight AB, one of the largest technology and service providers in the Swedish music and stage industry, has joined forces with United Audio AB, one of Sweden's leading pro audio rental companies. The two companies will start cooperating immediately, making up what it says is "the first true total service provider for the Swedish entertainment and events industry".

The company now controls the greatest resource available in Scandinavia, consisting of staff, stages, audio, lighting, and transportation services for the music industry, and will soon be able to compete on the European market while maintaining a strong local prescence. United Audio / Starlight will remain represented throughout Sweden, with offices in Stockholm, Avesta, Gothenburg, and Malmo. "The new, nationally available equipment resource, combined with the high level of competence that has long been the trademark of both companies, will provide even better possibilities for delivering cost effective solutions and best possible results," the company says.

"We consider this to be the logical next step in the maturation process of this, ratheryoung, industry, and we are pleased and proud to have this opportunity to help furtherdevelop an industry which we have had part in creating," says Björn Lehnberg, co-ownerof United Audio and one of the initiating forces behind the joint venture.

"Joining our efforts will give us better access to the local markets through United Audio'soffices in Gothenburg and Malmö," says Per Eriksson. "At the same time, the combinedresources grant us fantastic opportunities to reach outside the nation's borders as well, which will be a great challenge for us!"

Åsa Söderberg Hjelm, previously the managing director of United Audio, will take the lead of the joined companies as MD, with Ulf Brynte of Starlight as assistant director. "We are both excited and proud to have this unique opportunity - to help build a new kind of service provider and problem solver, with this amazing resource to build on," say Åsa.

The new name of the combined operation will be revealed in due course.
