"Working with the team at Mossbourne, we have created a lighting and sound system which is equal to that of many professional theatres. The lighting is rigged onto a flown truss to give the school complete flexibility and we have installed a variety of lanterns to ensure that every angle of the stage is covered. Likewise, the sound system includes sound desks which give direct access and control of the CD/DVD players, the mics and radio mics, to allow students to move around the theatre without losing sound quality," explained Martin Palmer of Stagecraft Theatre Services.
The installation at Mossbourne took six weeks for the Theatre Services team to complete. Martin Palmer, Director of Stagecraft Theatre Services and his colleague Project Manager Simon Pike were responsible for the design of the system. They worked with Business Development Manager, Richard Parker and Gill Amos, Head of Drama at Mossbourne. Martin continued: "We were delighted to work with Mossbourne on the creation of the new theatre system, and hope that it will enable students to create professional music, drama and dance performances for many years to come."
Equipment installed at Mossbourne Academy included: flown truss and ground support trussing each with 24 channels of lighting and a DMX and Hot power network, ADB Euro rack dimmers, Zero88 Fat Frog, Selecon Compact, Pacific Profiles, Axail Zoom-Spots and Hui Cyc Floods, QSC Isis speakers, sub woofer, digital sound processor and amplifiers, STS Logic control panel, Allen and Heath mixing desk, Tascam CD and Mini Disc players and recorders, Samsung rack mounted DVD/Video player and recorder, Shure PGX series radio mics and SM58/SM57 microphones.
