Germany - Steinberg Media Technologies launched a new entry-level music studio at ProLight + Sound in Frankfurt this week. Sequel features studio-grade technologies within a "one-window" user interface that promises to "open up music creation and performance to anyone with a computer", and requires no knowledge of music or recording to produce great-sounding songs and mixes in just a few minutes, says the company.

"Sequel is a brand-new and exciting way to experience making music on a computer," states Arnd Kaiser, senior product manager for music technology at Steinberg. "Combining intuitive tools to record, edit, mix and perform music with great-sounding loops, instruments and effects, Sequel is the perfect first step into music production and performance."
