Studiomaster Starlight ML FOH, monitor and lighting cabinets
UK - Studiomaster has announced the pricing for its Starlight ML combined sound and lighting cabinets; these are now shipping to MI stores and pro-audio dealers worldwide.

Starlight is an exclusive new Studiomaster product concept, offering an instant gigging solution for solo artists and small groups; or all-in-one 'straight out of the box' sound and lighting for small venues. The Starlight concept with its portable compact form factor reduces the weight, complexity and cost of PA and lighting. With Studiomaster's renowned product quality and performance, and a price tag of under £500 a pair for the 12ML and £570 for the 15ML (mrrp inc. VAT), Starlight ML represents incomparable value for money, says the company.

The 2-way 12 inch or 15 inch cabinets combine self-powered front of house (FOH) and stage monitor sound, and LED stage lighting. The 'matched' 'left' and 'right' cabinets are stand or pole mountable, and each feature 250 watt self-powered FOH reinforcement, a 50 watt powered side mounted monitor driver and a recessed side slot housing six high-power LEDs with dispersion lenses. The LEDs and monitor speakers are angled inward. When the cabinets are placed on stands or poles, the LED strips project an even colour wash across the stage.

A rear panel mixer features one channel with balanced XLR mic and line inputs, and one with balanced XLR and stereo phono inputs. There is a 3-band EQ and a separate monitor level control, and an input for a foldback signal from for use with a FOH mixing console. The in-built lighting controller features 13 programs, including seven static colours, fade to colour change, sound to light; brightness and speed are also adjustable.

Studiomaster will be exhibiting Starlight ML to the MI industry at MIRC Expo on 18 June at Whittlebury Hall in Northampton, UK. "We are showing Starlight ML along with our most innovative new product ranges at MIRC," says marketing manager Patrick Almond. "The Starlight design is exemplary of Studiomaster's long tradition of developing entirely new types of product; just as the company was first to integrate power amplifiers and a portable mixer so many years ago. Starlight is the kind of product that should get retailers very excited, opening up a whole new area of potential sales among for musicians and small venues for whom sound and lighting was previously unaffordable."
