iDP (Interactive Digital Programming) technology has now been incorporated within two new Precision monitors - Precision 6iDP and 8iDP - and these will be launched at this year's Show. These stunningly versatile and intelligent active monitoring systems bring together the unique Tannoy Dual Concentric and WideBand technology with the latest cutting edge digital processing from TC Electronic.
The built-in EQ capability of Precision iDP allows precise room optimisation with the user being able to compensate for acoustic anomalies in the room. Loudspeaker positioning compensation in the software guarantees the same reference sound irrespective of their placement, whether in a corner, against a wall or on top of a console. Precise matching to the listening environment is possible as each monitor can be individually optimised, taking into account its exact position within the room relative to the room boundary, and its own performance relative to the acoustic properties of the room. iDP technology also allows the user to control parameters in 'real time' - such as bass management, global level, recall of different preset settings, solo / mute functions etc.
Tannoy's WideBand technology included as standard within the new Precision iDP models, extends high frequency response to above 50 kHz. This extended range not only provides all of the bandwidth required for today's wide bandwidth digital recording formats, but also ensures that phase error is minimised through the entire audible spectrum.
Incorporating DSP technology, networking intelligence and class D digital amplifiers, along with the company's renowned acoustic expertise, the new Precison iDP monitors provide an exceptional level of performance and operation convenience in studio monitors. In order to provide visitors to the Frankfurt show with as much information on all of the new products,
Tannoy will be combining its ranges of both studio and commercial products on stand C22 in Hall 8.
