With over 105 band members playing a diverse range of musical instruments, the Indian TA band needed a system that would offer significant enhancements in the performance and ease of use. Faced with a myriad of choices, the Territorial Army brought in ElectroAcoustic Consultants Advance Acoustic Research in order to specify the appropriate sound reinforcement system designed to meet the demands of the band.
After assessing and comparing various equipment from different manufacturers, Mr Tikendra Singh, principal consultant of Advance Acoustic Research, recommended Tannoy VQ Series for the band.
After Mr Singh's recommendation, the Indian Territorial Army decided to go with the full-range point-source Tannoy VQ system.
As per the guidelines of Advance Acoustic Research the system was integrated and supplied by Acoustic Arts Pvt and comprises of two VQ 60; two VS 215HL and four V12HP (monitors), powered by Lab.gruppen amplification (two FP4000 and one fP2600), with Biamp DSP, Yamaha mixing consoles, 42 Sennheisser and eight DI boxes.
The Indian Territorial Army Band is now playing on the system all across the country, with performances across a diverse range of venues, both indoor and outdoor, receiving great praise for the superior performance provided by VQ Series. The system has been used a number of times at India Gate for a gathering of more than 10,000 people.
