The event, which forms part of BiG - Make It Your Business, provided 180 teams from 18 schools and two colleges in Sheffield with the chance to pitch for a share of £100,000 to support enterprise in their school, as well as a five day trip to the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.
Each team of budding entrepreneurs received £25 to start and run their business over a six month period and generate as much profit as possible with the most successful teams making the City Hall final.
More than 20 awards were presented at the event with Myers Grove School taking the overall winners title for its Bitz n Boblets business.
Eamonn Hunt, director of tdc, said: "As a local company, we were delighted to be involved in such an inspiring competition that encourages enterprise and entrepreneurship in the city. These students will eventually go on to become the future of business in Sheffield and the BiG Challenge was a great way to capture their interest and show the importance of teamwork, innovation and entrepreneurship."
