Teatro Real relies on GSUV ultraviolet light
- Details
From the moment it reopened its doors, the Teatro Real has adopted all the mandatory and recommended health measures specified by the Community of Madrid: limited audience capacity, the use of hydroalcoholic gel for cleaning hands, and the mandatory use of masks during the entire performance is the new way to enjoy culture in Spain.
In addition, the theatre has taken the initiative to reinforce its disinfection protocols with ultraviolet-C light technology, applying it across many areas within the theatre as an extra stage in safeguarding the well-being of artists, workers, and spectators.
The Teatro Real Project collaborated with Stonex which advised on the best ways to disinfect the different areas within the theatre. The solution incorporates four GoldenSea UV UVL150 units within the stage and auditorium areas, and two of the mobile GSUV UVM216 unit for backstage and rehearsal rooms.
The UVL150 device has a versatile design that is perfect for fixed installations, but equally at home for mobile use when supported on a flat surface. It delivers a high rate of disinfection, reaching 160 m² in just 120 minutes. The UVM216 model is ideal for use in spaces from 60 m² to 240 m². Its dimensions are slightly taller than that of the UVL150 and it is supported on wheels which facilitate its easy movement from one area to another.
All GSUV products have been designed with built-in security measures that guarantee compliance with the UNE 0068 specification and safe handling.
Stonex worked closely with Teatro Real in supporting and supplying the UVC equipment for this project from its partner Goldensea UV whose UVC devices are developed from high-quality quartz glass tubes that allow full transmission of ultraviolet light in the spaces to be disinfected. It is an ozone-free technology that leaves no residues.
