The BRIT School celebrates 25 years

The line-up on the day will feature successful alumni currently working across the creative sector including artists Imogen Heap, Natalie Stewart from Floetry, comedy group Mandem on the Wall (made up of BRIT graduates Joivan Wade and Percelle Ascott), dancers Twist and Pulse (Britain’s Got Talent finalists 2010), Khronos Agoria (Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalists 2016), The Good Wife star Cush Jumbo and DJ sets by Radio 1xtra DJ Ace and Kiss FM’s DJ Freddie Smith.
The festival will showcase performances on various stages with the main stage under a circus big top throughout the day. There will also be a spoken word tent, film screenings, street food stalls and bars with bespoke fashion and prints available to buy designed by the Visual Arts & Design students.
Supplier of event resources PRG XL Video has donated technical equipment for the festival and is named as one of The BRIT School’s industry partners that has helped resource hundreds of productions.

Stuart Worden, principal says: “There is Glastonbury, Reading and Edinburgh Festivals. And now there’s Selhurst! This is a wonderful way to bring the 25th anniversary year to its conclusion. It will be a festival that will celebrate students’ creativity and extraordinary diversity across all the art forms.
“This School that, over the last four years, has delivered 99% of its students either into jobs or higher education, has played a significant part in that success of the creative economy which is the fastest growing sector for ‘UK plc'. As Principal I am immensely proud of that achievement and our student’s success.
“This event is also an important opportunity to raise awareness and funds for this incredible school. Now more than ever, we need support to keep The BRIT School the special place it has become, and to invest in tomorrow’s creative talent. By any measure, this School is unique and here’s to the next 25 years.”
Tickets are £25 and all proceeds will go to The BRIT Silver Fundraising Campaign.
