UK - Canegreen Commercial supplied the sound system for the Deutche Bank 'High Yield' conference party this June in the glorious setting of London's Hyde Park. Following the serious business of the conference, the 500 delegates enjoyed the Corrs 'unplugged-style' set, with Canegreen Commercial's managing director Andrew Frengley designing a system that drew heavily on the group's experience in the music industry. "Our approach was to install a PA more akin to a concert system than a corporate sound system, to suit the show," Frengley explained. "From a design aspect that was easier for me, as we relied on Meyer stereo stacks flanking the stage.

Sister company Canegreen has worked with the Corrs for several years, and their engineer's familiarity with the team and the system meant they were very comfortable. The acoustic format for this show, which included bringing in an eight-piece orchestra, did mean a few adaptations from the Corrs' usual stage set-up. Front-of-house engineer Max Bisgrove explained: "The band like a reasonable sound level on stage, so we put the orchestra behind perspex screens and used Acusound mics to bring up the level of the orchestra. There can be a lot of potential pitfalls on a show like this, but Canegreen Commercial made the whole experience very simple and relaxed for us all, it really was a stroll in the park!" Having consulted with Bisgrove prior to the show, Canegreen Commercial also supplied a new Aztec mixing console to control the front-of-house sound.

The Corrs usually use in-ear monitors on stage, but to allow the band to get the feel of the orchestra on this show, Canegreen Commercial supplied Meyer UM1 wedges, which engineer Mini Moore controlled with a Midas XL4 console. The party was organized for Deutche Bank by Sound Advice, who have built a reputation for booking high profile artists for corporate clients. Having booked the Corrs, they were also the event managers, utilizing some of the infrastructure being put in place for the Prince's Trust 'Party in the Park' concert taking place in July.
