"We see this as a disco of superlatives," says Index managing director, Holger Bösch. His plan is for the Index to function as a disco at the weekends, whilst remaining available during the week for corporate functions, wedding parties and other events. "We aim to offer guests the optimum experience, so nothing less than the finest equipment will suffice," he adds.
The equipment in question was supplied by Mettmann specialists VLM GmbH and includes both lighting effects and an innovative sound system. "For us, the lighting is every bit as important as the sound," says Bösch. "That's why we went out of our way to come up with a really original lighting concept."
In the Main section, every niche in the wall contains a LED spotlight. The lighting console, a Grand MA Full-size, is capable of controlling every light individually as well as regulating the brightness of every colour across the entire 0-100% range.
"VLM products are reliable," says Bösch, "and the LEDs afford outstanding scope for control. Besides which, they are very easy to install and offer an absolutely first class performance-to-price ratio."
