Building on the success of the 2010 inaugural event in London, the conference is delighted to host John Hayes MP, Minister of State for Further Education, Skills and Lifelong Learning, who will address delegates on the importance of improving and consolidating partnership links between the creative and cultural industry and the education sector.
Attendees will have the opportunity to network with key industry figures, attend lively and practical seminars and celebrate achievements the Skills Academy has delivered in the last 12 months. These include collaborative programmes of activity between industry and education, such as Offstage Choices and Production Day visits, and the continued success of Apprenticeships in the sector. The Music Blueprint, an in-depth research report into the skills needs and requirements of the music industry, will also be launched at the conference.
Pauline Tambling, managing director, National Skills Academy for Creative & Cultural says: "The conference is intended to stimulate imaginative debate around the skills issues currently facing the industry. Drawing on the wealth of talent, insight and expertise of our speakers and delegates, this will, I hope, lead to the generation of some tangible solutions that address a number of the challenges that lie ahead. This is a must-attend event for all those with a genuine interest in the skills and productivity agenda for the sector".
Conference key speakers include Paul Latham, COO, Live Nation, Melvin Benn, managing director, Festival Republic and Sarah Rushton-Reed, co-founder, WISE (Women in Stage Entertainment).
