Best wishes to John Steven who has left Sennheiser UK. Having been director of marketing for the past eight years, he leaves to start and run his own company, John Steven PR. He will continue working with Sennheiser UK on a freelance basis on various special projects, including assisting general manager Phil Massey with the company's ongoing involvement with the National Film and Television School and the Liverpool Institute of the Performing Arts. "I'm certainly going to be sad leaving Sennheiser," said John. "This company has been such a part of my life for the last 13 years, and I'm really going to miss the people, not just in the UK but also in our various subsidiaries around the world."
Let's hear it for Liverpool department: Sir Paul McCartney has celebrated his home city's year as European Capital of Culture and been celebrated himself by 36,000 fans at a concert in Liverpool. Sunday's crowd at Anfield football stadium gave him a hero's welcome as he played almost two hours of highlights from The Beatles, Wings and his solo career. "Thank you for coming here in the City of Culture, at the centre of the universe," he said to cheers.
