In memory of a big man - Singers including Jose Carreras and Placido Domingo commemorated the life of late tenor Luciano Pavarotti at a concert in Petra, Jordan. Domingo and Carreras - who performed as The Three Tenors with Pavarotti - sang together for the first time since the Italian's death last year.

Pavarotti is said to have always wanted to give a concert at Petra. U2 frontman Bono was also at a memorial event in honour of the singer, and paid warm tribute to him. Others who took part in the three-day commemoration were Sting and Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Speaking on stage, Sting said, "Luciano was a big man, he had a big heart and that generosity was transformed in his voice, and when we heard his voice all of us were richer."

It's goodbye from him - Former Beatle Ringo Starr will no longer sign memorabilia for fans and will throw away all fan mail he receives in the future, he has said. "Please do not send fan mail to any address you have," he said in a video message on his website. "Nothing will be signed after the 20th of October. If that is the date on the envelope, it's gonna be tossed. I'm warning you with peace and love I have too much to do," the 68-year-old drummer said.
