Thomas has extensive experience in pro audio development; especially for loudness metering, sound exposure, dose management, true-peak detection, immersive sound and format conversion. From a background in medicine and cross-modal perception, Thomas has taken part in audio standardization globally, and hosted numerous seminars within film, broadcast and music. He is the current convenor of Genelec CLC TX108X/WG3, tasked with preventing hearing loss from spreading because of over-exposure to personal media players (PMPs).
"It is a great privilege to join Genelec Oy, one of the world's best loudspeaker manufacturers, says Thomas. "I worked for 18 years at TC Electronic with some of Denmark's finest engineers; first as technology and product manager responsible for System 6k, broadcast devices and other high-end projects, and later as CTO focusing on immersive sound, ITU/EBU loudness, "true-peak" level and sound exposure. I'm looking forward to the challenges in my new role."
"We are very pleased to have such an experienced and competent audio professional in our team. Thomas' skills, experiences and his enthusiasm for pro audio fit perfectly within our already unique team at Genelec. This will also bring us a big opportunity to further strengthen our support for our core customers in the broadcast industry," says Dr. Siamäk Naghian, managing director of Genelec."
