Japan - Following the devastating earthquake of 11 March, D&M has been assessing the extent of the damage and situations at both its Kawasaki office building, and its Shirakawa manufacturing facility. Here is the latest information:

Following the earthquake, all employees returned safely to their homes over the weekend.

On 14 March 1, the Kawasaki office building re-opened. While the building sustained some damage, repairs are currently underway and operations are expected to approach relatively normal levels within the next couple of days.

D&M Holdings European President Terry O'Connell states, "Because the Shirakawa manufacturing facility sustained some damage, it remained closed through Wednesday, 16 March. At this moment, we try to obtain a more complete picture of the damage, put response plans in place and have physical inspections conducted to verify the facility can be re-opened safely. The Shirakawa area is experiencing significant infrastructure challenges, including the shutdown of major highways, bullet train service, water supply and potential power disruptions.

"The safety and well being of our employees is our top priority. As needed, we will assist our employees with any hardships they are facing at home. We also would like to thank our customers and distribution partners for their considerations and their support towards our colleagues in Japan."
