UK - Touch-screen music systems, bringing the benefits of fast-growing digital and MP3 technology to the leisure Industry, Q-Play and 00DJ are the latest innovations from Computer DJ, a British company formed by professional DJs, which is attracting international interest in its digital music management and distribution systems. Both products use MP3 technology to hold thousands of tracks, removing the need to keep CDs in unsightly and impractical piles or in boxes for carrying to gigs.

Q-Play, with its touch-screen monitor, is designed for ease of use and reliability in the leisure Industry locations where background music is played to enhance the atmosphere. A space-saving rack unit may be located out of sight, and the monitor can blend into an interior scheme or become a stylish feature in its own right such as forced air cooling and biometric security features.

Music is selected speedily and easily by operators authorised by the venue. It can also be activated remotely via secure Internet connection, enabling businesses with more than one venue to handle selection from a central location. Tracks can be grouped according to style and time of day, and can be sent to as many as four rooms simultaneously. Computer DJ can also supply software to generate immediate on-screen advertisements, messages, and special offers.

The 00DJ portable MP3 module allows music to be stored and carried from venue to venue in a sturdy yet stylish piece of kit designed specifically for the professional mobile DJ. Users will free-up their creativity and save valuable time without sacrificing performance, says the maker. Key features include biometric fingerprint security, twin fan cooling, a touch-screen console, twin 100GB hard drives on secure mounting, a studio quality sound card, a backlit keyboard, and the flexibility to work with any DJ software. The universal switch-mode power supply permits operation in any country.

Connections are minimal and are designed to meet the needs of the itinerant DJ. Customised versions of the unit can be produced if required. The complete all-in-one package comes ready to use in a robust but lightweight aluminium case with a carry handle.
