Based on Trantec's S6000 series, the S5.5 simultaneously operates up to 24 channels in 10 banks within its 35MHz window. Designed for larger projects, it utilises fully interactive PC monitoring, true-diversity reception, credit card size beltpacks, frequency autoscan, and in-built Infra-red data link.
Taylor's production company Taylor Made Broadcasts, has recently commenced a complete refit of one of its OB trucks and he explains, "Taking the Trantec wireless system on board has been a dramatic departure from the previous wired mics. We now have much more flexibility and the GQT chairman and panel can now wonder round the audience, adding a whole new dynamic to the programme. Trantec's In-Ear monitoring system also means that we are always in touch with each other.
"As well as catering for the radio listener with quality broadcast sound, we also of course, have to entertain the live audience. Each week we cover different locations around the country and the nature of the show means we are often in some of the harshest acoustic conditions - village halls have never been renowned for their acoustics. We can now drive the PA harder than before so that the audience hears a clearer show, and we can also get a tighter balance on the panel's voices.
Trantec's sales executive, Mark Parkhouse says, "Our aim with the S5 is to bring multi-channel professional wireless within everybody's reach. Competitively positioned as a mid range product, the S5 Series has a powerful set of features and combines substantial performance capabilities with practical flexibility to suit any wireless application"
