Expanding the range of options offered by Turbosound's QLight series still further, the TQ-308SP is an ultra-compact self-powered loudspeaker system, designed for sound reinforcement applications ranging from industrial and corporate events, to small and medium-sized fixed installs. Similar in concept to the established TQ-310 and TQ-315 systems, it features Turbosound's Converging Elliptical Waveguide, a rotatable high-frequency horn that provides smooth and even dispersion over an included angle of 100° horizontal by 60° vertical. The Waveguide can be rotated through 90° within the enclosure, in order to orientate the horizontal and vertical patterns to suit different installation requirements. The on-board, twin-channel Class A/B amplifier module includes active filters and limiting features, ensuring the TQ-308SP is virtually bullet-proof in operation.
Making their debut at PLASA is Turbosound's new series of passive loudspeakers, designed for the portable live music, club and DJ market, as well as for fixed installations. The extensive range of system options includes compact 12" 2-way and 15" 2-way enclosures, single and double 15" and 18" bass cabinets, plus wedge monitors. All models share the same robust construction and practical features, including high-grade birch plywood cabinets, ergonomically placed flush handles, dual Speakon connectors, M10 internal rigging points and integral pole mount sockets. Steep-slope passive crossover networks, with fast-acting high frequency protection circuits, are used in all the two-way enclosures, while the bass enclosures feature high pass filters, allowing full-range systems of LF and HF cabinets to be conveniently powered from a single amplifier channel.
Also showing for the first time is Turbosound's brand new 2-in, 4-out digital controller - the LMS-D4. Supplied with factory-loaded programs for use with the TQ-310 and TQ-315 multi-purpose loudspeaker systems, the LMS-D4 features 24-bit DSP processing, signal and clip front panel LEDs, plus true RMS limiting. Designed to offer a high level of capability at an economical price point, the new controller is equipped with adjustable input gain and electronically balanced inputs and outputs, as well as a RS-232 port for program upgrades and future-proof expandability.
Accompanying the new products at PLASA will be examples from Turbosound's successful Qlight series, including the TQ-310 and TQ-315 systems, plus the TQ-440SP self-powered three-way system and its corresponding TQ-425SP powered subwoofer. The recently-introduced TFM-420 and TFM-450 monitor wedges will also be represented, and Turbosound will be emphasizing the wide acceptance and frequent deployment that these models have enjoyed at numerous festivals and corporate events across this summer.
